Republic of Jiu Jitsu Devastated by Arson – But We Will Rebuild

We are heartbroken to share that our beloved jiu-jitsu academy was completely destroyed in a fire late on Monday night in a deliberate arson attack. Thankfully, the incident occurred outside of business hours, and we are relieved to report that no one was injured.

We would like to extend our deepest thanks to Dublin Fire Brigade, whose quick and professional response ensured the fire was contained and did not spread to the apartments above. Their swift action prevented what could have been a far more serious tragedy.

We are also grateful to the Gardaí for their support, and we remain hopeful that those responsible will be brought to justice.

While the gym itself has been devastated, our mats and equipment are gone, the spirit of our community remains unshaken. We will rebuild.

We have already been overwhelmed by the messages, calls, and offers of support from club members, neighbouring gyms, and the wider martial arts community in Ireland and abroad. Your kindness and solidarity mean everything to us.

In the meantime, we will continue training at a temporary location, just five minutes’ walk away while our club is rebuilt, so our members can stay active, connected, and focused. More details to follow soon.

We are committed to rebuilding our club, not just the physical space, but the vital community hub it has become for children, teens, and adults alike. For years, this gym has been a safe space for children after school, a path to discipline and confidence for teens, and a second home for adults seeking growth, friendship, and fitness. and we will work tirelessly to bring it back stronger than ever.

Thank you for your continued support, we will be back.
